Formerly known as the Suntrap Forest Centre, The Hive is an innovative environmental education service set in 7 acres of woodland and thriving habitats in Epping Forest. 

It inspires young people and adults to tackle climate change, through a deeper understanding and connection with the natural world. Building on their legacy of over 50 years of engaging people in protecting the natural world for future generations.

The Hive offers educational outdoor activities for schools, families, adults and community groups.

Waltham Forest Climate Leaders: Eco-Action Week

Want to learn more about the climate emergency? Keen to meet like-minded people and explore the ecology of Epping Forest? If you are aged 16 to 21 and living/learning in Waltham Forest - this is for you.

This Eco-Action course is packed with in-depth sustainability knowledge, practical conservation methods and skills for enabling you and others to create positive change.

You will cover:

  • green careers,
  • Carbon Literacy accreditation,
  • group project on a real-world climate action challenge.

Sessions 

  • Tuesday 16 July to Friday 19 July from 10am to 4pm 
    • Day 1: Waltham Forest Town Hall
    • Day 2 and 3: Overnight residential at The Hive
    • Day 4: Waltham Forest Town Hall
  • Cost: £10 to cover Carbon Literacy certification
  • Suitable for ages 16 to 21
