Blue Badges parking permits for disabled people

If you’re disabled with severe mobility problems and have difficulty using public transport, you may qualify for a Blue Badge.

It's a way you can park close to your destination and travel independently.

Download Can I get a Blue Badge (PDF 775KB) from GOV.UK, to find out more about the terms of the scheme.

It's a criminal offence to use someone else’s Blue Badge or drive a vehicle displaying a badge unless the badge holder is in the vehicle. There is a fine of up to £1,000.

If you're a resident within a controlled parking zone (CPZ) and hold a Blue Badge, you can also apply for a free, annual residents parking permit

Step 1: Pay for your Blue Badge

Before you can apply for a new Blue Badge you’ll need to pay a £10 administration fee. If your application is unsuccessful, we’ll refund the fee by the method you paid with.

There is no charge for replacement badges if the original card has been stolen or is faded. You’ll need to give us either a copy of the crime report which includes the crime reference number, or return the faded badge.
