Community groups, schools and gardening clubs can email environmental.services@walthamforest.gov.uk to request bulbs. We will also send a mail inviting groups who have taken part in previous years to get involved again.

The council has 25,000 bulbs to give away, which include:

2,000 Muscari  (Grape Hyacinth)
1,000 Aconites  (type of buttercup)
3,000 Crocus mixed bulbs
1,000 Galanthus nivalis bulb (Snow drop)
3,000 Narcissus fortune bulb (Daffodil)
6,000 Narcissus white bulb (Daffodil)
3,000 Narcissus 'King Alfred' bulb (Daffodil)
6,000 Narcissus Tête-à-tête bulb (Daffodil)

These flowers have been especially chosen as they are good for naturalising, which means they multiply easily and displays will improve year-on-year.

Bulbs will be delivered in the weeks leading up to Friday 19 October. The bulb planting programme will begin with local schools on the Friday, and then continue with other groups over the weekend of 20 and 21 October.
