The site is on the former NHS site on Union Close, Leytonstone. The site previously had outline planning permission for 58 units with 14% of those being affordable.
Peabody secured a revised planning permission for 79 units and with the benefit of funding from both Waltham Forest Council and the Greater London Authority (GLA) we are delivering this as 100% affordable.
The development layout has a real sense of community being located next to Langthorne Park.
The scheme also comprises a large communal garden in one of the rented blocks and serving the terrace of houses and remaining blocks is a communal landscaped courtyard.
All houses and ground floor flats have private gardens, the rest of the flats have balconies or private roof terraces.
The scheme comprises three blocks and 14 houses, of which 12 are in a terrace. There are seven wheelchair adaptable properties in the scheme.
Each block of flats has a lift.
Renewable technologies have been used with Solar PV panels installed to the roof of all blocks and most of the houses.
