Fly tipping is the illegal dumping of waste. This can include items such as:

  • mattresses
  • tyres
  • sofas
  • white goods (e.g. fridges and washing machines)

It is the responsibility of the owner or occupier to have fly tipping cleared. The council can serve legal notice on the owner or occupier to ensure that this happens.

Don’t fly tip your waste. There are a number of ways that you can get rid of it if it doesn’t fit into one of your bins.
