Cllr Clare Coghill, Leader of Waltham Forest Council, said: “One year ago today we received the tragic news that Amaan Shakoor, who was just 16 years old, was murdered in front of his friends in cold blood outside a leisure centre in Walthamstow. A family lost a son, a community lost a member, and a young person lost their life.

“No-one has yet been arrested or charged for this shocking act. Someone out there has information that could lead to those responsible being brought to justice. The police have offered a £20,000 reward  - if you do know anything, please come forward. It is so important that the culprits of this heinous crime are prevented from hurting another young person and destroying another innocent family.

“Waltham Forest is a community where we want everyone to feel welcome, safe and valued as we support all to make the most of their life chances.

“You can call the police on 101, or call Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111. Please, if you do have any information let the police know and help Amaan’s family get the justice they deserve.”
