Annual WF Tech camp to upskill and support school students and jobseekers to find work, followed by a Careers Fair.
During the last week of November, students and jobseekers from the Borough will work in teams to develop (digital) business ideas that can help people feel safer in our streets. In these sessions they will work together with leading employers - who will be mentoring and providing guidance (and of course, introducing their company, products, services - and their open vacancies).
At the end of the week, on the 29th November, at Waltham Forest College (Students Common Room), participants of the Tech Camp will pitch their ideas to a Panel of Judges (first all the teams will pitch to a Residents Panel, from which only 6 teams will pitch to a VIP Panel, and one team will be the winner of Tech Camp!).
This will be followed by a Careers Fair, from 2pm until 6pm, where people can meet local and national employers, and learn about careers in their companies, with a special focus on careers in digital, creative, media, technology and telecoms sectors.
This event is open to all residents. So everyone is invited to join, see the pitches and stay for the careers fair.
Location: Waltham Forest College (Students Common Room)
