Who we are and what we do?

We aim to deliver to most user friendly and user focused digital public website. We are committed to using your feedback to continually develop and continuously improve our digital offer. 

To do this we have installed a feedback tool to collect feedback about the site and how you use it. 

This Privacy Notice explains what personal information we collect about you, how and why we use it, who we disclose it to, and how we protect your privacy when you use the feedback tool. 

We comply with our legal obligations under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) 2018 and the Data Protection Act 2018 when using your personal information.

Information we hold about you

When using the feedback form we will ask for some information to improve the functionality of our website and learn about your experience on the site. 

This information we will hold about you includes:

  • The browser you are using 
  • The type of device you’re accessing the site on 
  • The webpage you landed on when you chose to fill out the form, or more commonly known as a URL
  • We will ask you to provide feedback on your experience 

Your personal data

We will only ask you for your personal information should you answer yes to providing us with further feedback from February 2025. 

We will then ask you for

  • Your name 
  • And your email address

Why we need your information and how we use it

We collect personal data to:

The Lawful basis for the processing

We are processing data based on consent. You will be provided with the opportunity to consent before sharing any of your data. You are able to withdraw this consent at any point. You can withdraw your consent by contacting web.site@walthamforest.gov.uk

Who your information will be shared with (if applicable)

Your data is used by staff working in the relevant council service area, relating to your feedback and comments. 

We will not share your information with any organisation outside of the Council.

How long we will keep your information

When we no longer need to keep information about you, we will review it and archive it for a maximum retention period of 3 years. 

After that period, we will dispose of it in a secure manner.
