We deal with complaints alleging breaches of the Councillors’ Code of Conduct by elected councillors and co opted members.

Information we hold about you
Where relevant to do so and appropriate we may process the following information about you:
- Your name, address, telephone number(s), email address;
- Nature of your complaint;
- Who you are complaining about;
- Remedy sought;
- Equalities monitoring;
- General correspondence between you and the Council on matters related to your complaint.
Please note that anonymous complaints will not be considered.

We consider your privacy with great importance and will only use your personal information to investigate and address your complaint.
The Lawful basis for the processing
The processing and use of your personal data are underpinned by our compliance with our legal and statutory obligations. This is primarily under the Local Government Act, 2000, and the Localism Act, 2011.
Who your information will be shared with (if applicable)
The information provided may be shared with the Local Government Ombudsman, or the Police.
How long we will keep your information
We will retain records pertaining to our complaint investigation for a period of up to 5 years.
