Who we are and what we do?
Wellbeing Cafés is a mental wellbeing service commissioned by Waltham Forest Council to support residents living with loneliness or experiencing low level mental health challenges, such as low mood, anxiety, and depression. Four Wellbeing Cafés are delivered on a weekly basis in different parts of Waltham Forest and are open to members only. Membership of Wellbeing Cafés is free and limited to a 10-week period. Members can be referred by a professional or a community group or they can sign-up to the service themselves.
Members of Wellbeing Cafes will meet in a small consistent group in a community setting, they will get a chance to get involved in creative and wellbeing activities, learn new skills, and make new social connections. Participants of a Wellbeing Café will also be introduced to further free community groups, activities, and services.
Crest Waltham Forest, Hornbeam Centre and Mind in the City, Hackney and Waltham Forest are three Wellbeing Café providers. They collect, process, and retain contact details for the members, in order to provide the service. The providers also collect, process, and retain the demographic information on members’ age, gender, ethnicity, postcode and disability and carer status to monitor that the service is equitable.
