Over the spring and summer, Waltham Forest based Lea Valley Cycle Club, will be running monthly introductory rides for anyone who wants to find out more about our club and our Sunday club runs. These are short rides of less than 30 miles, taken at an easy pace, and are ideal for anyone looking for their first experience of road cycling in a group.

The rides all start at the Waltham Forest Town Hall Gates on Forest Road, and you can meet us there from 8.45 for a departure at 9.00. We will ride via the High Beach Tea hut so you can also join us there at 9.40. After that we will do a loop into the Essex countryside returning to Walthamstow around 1pm. The ride length will be around 30 miles with some hills and with any luck a cafe stop.

Each ride is led by experienced LVCC members and no one will be dropped or left behind.

What's essential :
A roadworthy bike you can comfortably ride for 3 hours, a spare inner tube and pump. Water and snacks. A reasonable level of fitness.

What's not essential:

Ride dates:
Saturday 1 June  2024
Saturday 6 July 2024
Saturday 3 August 2024
Saturday 7 September 2024

Need to know

Cycling is an inherent risk and riding as a group carries its own hazards. It's a safe and enjoyable way to experience cycling. Therefore all riders are expected to follow the instructions of the ride leaders. Lea Valley Cycling Club accepts no liability for loss or injury and you ride entirely at your own risk. Lea Valley Cycling Club reserves the right to decline rider participation if riders are assessed as not road worthy. This is a no drop ride so someone will be on hand to help you with mechanicals and we will ride at the pace of the slowest rider. We are an inclusive club and welcome everyone interested in cycling
