Getting support with QuitRight
When you stop smoking, good things start to happen: you can begin to see almost immediate improvements to your health.
If you live, work, study or are registered with a GP in Waltham Forest, you can get free, confidential advice, information, and support to help you stop smoking. Quitting using QuitRight will greatly increase your chances of becoming smoke-free.
QuitRight, funded by the Council, is a service provided by Queen Mary University of London for smokers and smokeless tobacco users who wish to quit. It includes:
- A 12-week plan with support from a trained practitioner
- Free Nicotine Replacement Therapy and free e-cigarettes
- Telephone and/or digital support. Face-to-face help may also be available.
A translation service is available.
Drop-in clinics
QuitRight host drop-in and phone clinics in Waltham Forest at the following places and times:
- Queens Road Family Hub: Thursdays, 1pm to 5pm
- Leytonstone Family Hub: Wednesdays, 10.30am to 1.30pm
- Walthamstow Family Hub: Tuesdays, 9am to 12.30pm
- Chingford Family Hub: Tuesdays, 2pm to 4pm
- Telephone clinics: Mondays, Tuesdays and Thursdays (5 to 7pm), Fridays (5 to 6pm)

Amongst other services, SSL also provides:
Telephone support
For callers including pregnant smokers; you will receive calls from a trained advisor who can give you personalised advice and support on how to stop smoking.
Text messaging service
Receive daily tips, reminders and encouraging text messages as you successfully stop smoking for good.
The Stop Smoking London website and text service are also available in Polish, Turkish, Romanian and Urdu.
The website has an option to “read aloud”.
