The 3in 1 teenage booster protects against 3 separate diseases: tetanus, diphtheria and polio.
It's routinely given at secondary school (year 9) at the same time as the MenACWY vaccine (which protects against meningitis).
HPV
Girls and boys aged 12 to 13 years are offered the human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccine as part of the school NHS vaccination programme.
This vaccine helps protect against problems caused by HPV like cancers (such as cervical cancer, mouth and throat [head and neck] cancers) and genital warts.
If your child has missed their vaccine
If your child is aged 12 to 13 years old and hasn’t had their HPV vaccine or is in year 9 and hasn’t had the 3 in 1 booster and MenACWY vaccine, it isn’t too late for them to get these.
Simply contact Vaccination UK on 0208 0174291 or by email: walthamforest@v-uk.co.uk to arrange an appointment for your child or come along to one of our community clinics taking place across the borough. You can find the times, dates and locations of these by navigating to the Vaccination UK website. This will be updated until the end of August.
