Taking these steps can often feel the hardest, but Mental Health Mates believe that movement and connection can play an important role in managing our mental well-being. Mental Health Mates really is for everyone, you will find a very warm welcome, meet new people and create new friendships. Groups across the UK meet regularly to walk and talk (if you want to) connect and share in a safe space, without fear or judgement. Take your first step today and join a Mental Health Mates walk. No notification of attendance is required either, just turn up on the day.

Routes are selected with safely and accessibility in mind so people of all abilities can join. Walks take place almost every weekend, often meeting at Highams Park Station and walking to The Highams Park, the lake and the surrounding woodlands of Epping Forest. However more recently they’ve have had walks depart from Chingford Station, walking the Holly Trail in Epping Forest. They also have met at Blackhorse Road Station in Walthamstow to walk the Walthamstow Wetlands. They do also meet socially, email them for details.

Join their Facebook Group page: Mental Health Mates Highams Park for regular updates on dates, times and meeting points.
