Ready Easy is a registered charity, established to help adults learn to read in their community.

There are over 2.4 million adults in England alone who can barely read, or cannot read at all. Their goal is for all adults in the UK to have the reading skills they need to fulfil their potential and live life to the fullest.

Help with reading

They offer free, one-to-one coaching to adults who want to learn to read via their trained volunteer Reading Coaches. Readers will be matched with a friendly coach in their area, and meet for two 30-minute sessions a week. Readers will work at their own pace, through a reading program developed for adults, called 'Turning Pages'. This can take between 9 months and two years to complete. At the end of the programme, Reader will receive a certificate, and can expect to have gained reading skills enabling them to progress in both work and life.

The service is for any adult who would like to learn to read, including those with learning disabilities and dyslexia. Readers and Coaches meet at locally approved venues including community centres, church halls, office spaces, art spaces and libraries.

Referral required and eligibility

No referral required, just call 07546 582 009, and talk to the coordinator to be added to the waiting list and matched with a coach.
