YMCA offers tailored exercise programme suitable for all abilities, including gym workouts and classes. Some sessions are targeted at younger service users and older residents. A crèche and reduced fees are available.

YMCA Youth Services
YMCA Walthamstow’s Youth Service has a range of activities for young people, of all ages and abilities.
Provision runs from Monday to Friday with something for everyone.
YMCA has a team of Youth Workers who you can chat to about any issues or worries you may have. Or come along and learn a new skill such as music recording, basketball or yoga.
If you are interested in hanging out in a safe place, meeting new people, and taking part in a wide range of activities.
Space4All
YMCA Walthamstow is hosting one of our Space4All youth sessions. The Space4All project sits within our Family Hubs programme, bringing key services to residents in their local neighbourhood.
The sessions are led by YMCA Youth Services and take place in an open access youth space with access to multi-sports, basketball and youth sessions for girls and those transitioning.
These sessions provide a safe space for young people to
- go and relax in
- meet new friends
- develop new skills.
Every Wednesday from 6pm to 8pm
These sessions are for young people aged 11 to 18

Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) Programme
Waltham Forest runs a holiday activity and food programme for 5 to 16 year-olds who are in receipt of benefits-related Free School Meals (FSM). Whether they are into arts and crafts, drama, sports outdoor adventures, there is something for everyone to get involved in!
These holiday clubs are completely free and include a daily meal during the summer holidays, but booking is essential on all activities to guarantee a space for your child. Eligible participants will receive a letter from their school with a unique code to be used for bookings.
To ensure all eligible children have access to our programme, your child is able to book up to 10 sessions during the Winter holidays from 23 December 2024 to 3 January 2025, at no cost to you. If your child/children can no longer attend the activity please ensure it is cancelled via the booking system or letting the provider know. If the child/children do not attend 2 booked sessions, all remaining booked sessions for the summer will be cancelled.

Basketball Camp
YMCA is hosting a Basketball Camp ran by Forest YMCA as part of the HAF programme in Waltham Forest.
This camp will offer three days of fitness, teamwork, basketball skills and drills, mini tournaments, exercises for performance, games, confidence building skills, healthy food to fuel workshops and wellbeing practices.
This provision includes a daily lunch and healthy snacks for all. It will have a high focus on teamwork and inclusion. Participants will have access to a large sports hall and high-quality equipment. Our youth work professionals and an external basketball coach will lead.
