Largest usage of powers to tackle unscrupulous landlords to date sees Waltham Forest Council gives notice of its intention to take possession of over 20 properties

Waltham Forest Council has served Interim Management Orders in respect of over 20 properties from a family landlord firm who supplied false information to the council’s Property Licensing Scheme and falsified Gas Safety certificates.

Think Work Summit: the council launches strategy for the future of work

On Wednesday 31 October, Waltham Forest held its first Think Work Summit, which brought together key professionals from across a range of sectors to discuss the future of work and skills, and potential solutions to new challenges that are emerging in employment. The Summit was chaired by Cllr Simon Miller,
the Lead Member for Economic Growth and High Streets, while Cllr Clare Coghill, the Leader of the Council, opened the event with our ‘Think Work’ vision to support residents and businesses to be able to adapt to the changing nature of work.

No time like the present: Waltham Forest Council announces two hours of free parking for Xmas shoppers

Shoppers in Waltham Forest will be entitled to two hours’ free parking in public car parks on Saturdays and Sundays in the run up to Christmas, with Thursdays being free to park between 3pm to 5pm. The free parking offer applies between Thursday 15 November to Monday 31 December 2018.

During the festive season visitors are more likely to shop for gifts and large, bulky items. The free parking offer enables them to spend more time enjoying the great shopping centres and restaurants in Waltham Forest.
