Reports to the office of the Schools Adjudicator

Each year every local authority is legally required to send an annual report by 30 June. This is sent to the Office of the Schools Adjudicator (OSA), with information about admissions from the last academic year.

The report must cover, as a minimum:

  1. Information about admission arrangements in the area of the local authority serving the interests of looked after children. This includes previously looked after children, children with disabilities, and children with special educational needs, as well as any details of problems.
  2. An assessment of the effectiveness of Fair Access Protocols and co-ordination in their area, including how many children were admitted to each school under them.
  3. Any other issues the local authority may wish to include.

Determined admission arrangements

We are required to set the school admission arrangements for community and voluntary controlled schools each year. These arrangements must be published on our or school's website.

School admissions arrangements for academies and voluntary aided (church) schools in the borough are made by the school’s governing body.  These schools are their own admission authority.

We and all own admission authority schools must carry out formal consultations of not less than six weeks before they make changes to their admissions arrangements. Admission Arrangements must be determined by 28 February 2023 for the academic year starting September 2024.
