Social care and short breaks

Before we decide if an assessment by the SEND service is required, we will consider helping through universal services. Universal services include schools, nurseries, and GPs.

We may do an Early Help Assessment. This is called Our Family Journey. 

The Early Help Service will ensure everyone involved with your child, including teachers and health visitors, works together to support them.

Children’s Social Care uses a four staged model of intervention to help find the best way to support families.
