Join our Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Advisory Panel

The Violence Against Women and Girls (VAWG) Team are seeking women who are committed to ending all forms of VAWG to join our Advisory Panel. The role of the Advisory Panel is to represent the voice of survivors of VAWG in Waltham Forest, helping to shape policy, respond to consultations, provide specialist feedback, and take part in a range of advisory activities. This position is open to any women aged 16+ who live, work, or study in Waltham Forest and have been impacted by VAWG. This includes but is not limited to Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence, so-called ‘Honour-based’ Violence, Stalking and/or Harassment, Coercion, Emotional and Spiritual Abuse. 

• Act as an Advisory Panel member for 2 years, with possibility for extension
• Provide survivor-focused influence and input to VAWG-related initiatives, services, and strategy development
• Capacity to commit to a minimum of 6 meetings annually, as well as a willingness to engage in additional ad-hoc advisory activities

• Have lived experience or been affected by Violence Against Women and Girls
• Live in or have a close connection to Waltham Forest (i.e., go to school or college in the borough, work in the borough for over 2 years etc) 
• Personal commitment to ending Violence Against Women and Girls and promoting the well-being of women and girls in Waltham Forest

• Impacting outcomes for women and girls in the borough by influencing VAWG strategy 
• Being an active participant in community engagement
• Gaining consultation and strategic planning experience 
• Being part of a network of women in the borough who have been impact are VAWG and are committed to making a difference 
• Financial compensation provided via vouchers for meetings and substantial advisory activities
