Single Homeless Project

The East London Counselling Service run by SHP is a free, community counselling service, based in Leyton, that provides time limited counselling of up to 12 sessions to anyone aged 18 and above living in, or working in Waltham Forest.

Counselling is provided by counsellors who are either in training or who have recently qualified. Counsellors are trained in an integrative theoretical approach, and we do not provide cognitive behavioural therapy. We operate on a first come, first serve basis with a waiting list. At present the waiting list is only around 2 to 3 weeks but can and does increase.

Referral required and eligibility

Individual referrals are accepted either through their website Single Homeless Project Alternatively, if they do not have access to the internet, individuals can contact the service directly on 07799 702 351 and we will be able to take a referral over the telephone.
