Stafford Hall food pantry is the first partnership between Queens Boundary Community, the Hornbeam, and St Barnabas Church. They are Walthamstow’s first food pantry. Food pantries aim to sit within the large gap in food affordability between food banks and supermarkets. The pantry provides an affordable bag of shopping.

The cost is £4.50 for 10 items. Shoppers can choose their own items from the pantry, but we request that at least 5 of the items are fresh food items. This is because the pantry’s secondary aim after access to affordable healthy food is to reduce food waste. Their pantry is open weekly on Thursdays from 3pm to 6.30pm. They stock stable store cupboard items such as rice, pasta, cereal, and tinned items as well as a changing selection of fresh fruit and veg and bread/cake. Each week they often have freebie extras that shoppers can choose to top up their shopping bags further.

The pantry runs from a community moving room in Stafford Hall and shoppers are welcome to make themselves free drinks and snacks whilst relaxing, using our jigsaw and book exchange or playing games in our comfy sofa space. Accessible entry is possible, and they are making further external accessibility improvements in the summer. An accessible toilet is also available.
