In 2021, 39% of people in Waltham Forest identified as Christian, compared to 48% in 2011: this is lower than the London average (41%), and England average (46%). 22% of Waltham Forest residents identified as Muslim (unchanged from 2011), compared to 15% of Londoners, and notably higher than the England average (7%). Twenty-eight per cent of Waltham Forest residents reported having “No religion”, increasing from 18% in 2011. This was similar to the London average (27%), but lower than the England average (37%).
