Week One of Summer Holidays at Fellowship Square

We're kicking off the summer programme at Fellowship Square, Forest Road, Walthamstow, London E17 4JF.

We are getting us all moving and playful with sports, dancing, games, trails and more. Join in Wee Movers dance and yoga, Blair Academy for Hip Hop dance or enjoy some Tai Chi and Japanese dancing through to gentle martial arts. Throughout this week, there are a variety of activities to choose from, with some staples keeping you busy too, such as our giant lawn games, board game hub, fountain displays and so much more. Scroll down to find out the full range of free and ticketed activities. Some may require booking, so don’t miss out!  

Refreshments will be available from Delice, London Braai, Town Hall Café, Sheebakes and Old Station Yard Café, amongst others.  

Fellowship Square Trail  

All week, free

The square consists of historic buildings and grounds that make up the whole campus and an open site for the whole community to enjoy. 
 
Let Amity the lion guide you around the square. This fun trail for all the family contains interesting Fellowship Facts which tell the story of the location, the buildings and the people. You can also complete Amity's Activities as you go around. Pick up a copy of the trail booklet from the Town Hall Café, in the Assembly Hall. Return to the café and collect a prize once you have finished.

Board Game Hub and Giant Lawn Games

All week, Saturday 22 to Friday 18 July, 11am to 5pm, free

We will have chess, draughts, battleships, and dominos to name a few, ​available at the square. Enjoy the games! 

Lycaeum Music Bus ​

Saturday 22 July, drop in from 11am to 5pm, free

An opportunity for children to be introduced to different instruments, they can try dozens of different instruments available to decide which one they like most. This double decker bus is run by Lycaeum Music, a team of professional music educators trained at the Royal Academy of Music and the Trinity Laban Conservatoire, with a combined teaching experience of nearly two decades. 

Wee Movers Dance and Yoga

Saturday 22 July, 10am and 10:30am, £3 per person

Start your Saturday with some fun! Children aged 2 to 7 are invited to join Wee Movers for a playful, energetic, and creative morning class with their grown-ups, which combines contemporary dance with yoga. A fun introduction to movement where children are encouraged to explore and express themselves in a warm and supportive environment. Sessions last 30 minutes.

Tai Chi and Chinese Fan Workshops 

Saturday 22, Sunday 23, and Friday 28 July

Tai Chi offers great health benefits through its gentle and graceful movements. Connect your mind and body with nature during these sessions, and make your own Chinese fan in these workshops. 

 

Make a 'save the earth frisbee'​ with The Hive

Tuesday 25 July, drop in from 11am to 5pm, free

Make a simple craft and think about what you can do to help the planet.

Toy Library

Tuesday 25 July, drop in from 11am to 5pm, free

Board games and play activities with the Walthamstow Toy Library.

Mile Rainbow CIC

Tuesday 25 and Wednesday 26 July​, 10:30am to 12 noon, £6.56 per person

Drop in anytime and join us for a mini calligraphy and painting exhibition, learn some basic Chinese, Korean or Japanese before experiencing Chinese, Korean, Japanese dances and gentle martial arts.

 

Pop Up Library

Wednesday 26 July​, 11am to 5pm, free

Pop-up library for all ages and abilities​.

Blair Academy

Wednesday 26 July​, £5 per person

A morning of  fun and fitness with one of the Blair Academy's energising signature chair based Hip Hop Dance sessions.​ All abilities are welcome.
