Our Family Hubs provide a wide range of information, activities and services in your local area including health, learning and play activities, childcare, family support, employment support, housing advice, money and benefits advice and much more.  

We know that all families need support from time to time to look after their wellbeing and help their babies and children thrive.  

Our Family Hubs are a place where families, friends and professionals can come together in a relaxed and friendly environment and support each other to achieve this. 

Services provided at Leyton Sports Ground as part of the Family Hubs programme are in partnership with:

• Northeast London NHS Foundation Trust (NELFT)  

Best Start in Life

Family Hubs activities for children aged 0 to 5 are part of Best Start in Life, a government-funded programme supporting Waltham Forest's parents and carers with their children’s growth.

You can find Best Start in Life services in all four Family Hubs and other community spaces throughout every neighbourhood in the borough.

The following provision can be found at Leyton Sports Ground:

Gakusei Karate

Gakusei Karate is a traditional Goju Ryu Karate club with a self-defence focus, with sessions taking place at Leyton Sports Ground. They offer a free 2 week trial for all our classes and so you can try it out before you choose to commit. Parents can train alongside their children in all classes. 

Thursdays from 5:30pm to 9pm and Fridays from 6:30pm to 8:30pm at Leyton Sports Ground

Saturdays from 9:30am to 12:30pm at Leyton Sixth Form College. 

These classes are suitable for ages 5 upwards and adults.

Olive Kane Dance 

Olive Kane Dance is a friendly and welcoming dance school based at Leyton Sports Ground. 

At the heart of their approach is: 

• Progression - building a strong technical foundation and supporting each child to reach their full potential through manageable steps and goals.
• Confidence - enjoyment and nurture at the heart of classes with each child treated as an individual.
• Community - children and their families feel part of something special and make friends for life. 

Classes take place on Monday, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday. 

Classes are suitable for ages 2 to 12.  

Prices range from £6 to £10 depending on the session.
