We Are Friends at Wood Street Library
Did you know that intergenerational activities can; reduce loneliness and social isolation, boost mental well-being and self confidence, and provide an opportunity for all generations to feel valued
As part of the Council’s Best Start in Life offer, we have funded The Together Project (the national charity that boosts wellbeing, reduces loneliness and fosters stronger, happier communities through joyful intergenerational activities) to deliver ‘We are Friends in collaboration with our libraries service.
We Are Friends is a special, heart-warming, intergenerational storytelling programme that brings older residents, under 5 and their parents/guardians together - through storytelling and singing songs. There’ll be puppets, instruments, colourful scarves and bubbles, and you’ll all get a chance to create new friendships across the generations.
Are you a family with an under 5 who would like to come along and make friends with older people in the community? Do you have an older relative or friend who might like to join you? Are you an older person who would like to come along to the story and rhyme sessions with the under 5s? Are you a care home that would like to bring some of your residents to meet the little ones?
If you answered yes to any of the questions, then book your place and come along to join the fun.
