Promoting Health Equality in the African and Caribbean Community

Published: 5 February 2024

MBS Wellbeing is a local Community Interest Company (CIC) supporting residents over forty years old achieve better outcomes in terms of health, creativity, learning, cultural heritage and enjoyment of life.

Thanks to funding from Round Two of our Community Chest Grants 2023, they have set up the African and Caribbean Community Health Network to run a series of events to address the inequities some residents face in their daily lives, and to obtain the right support and advice to improve health and living standards.

The events take place until April and will promote access to mainstream services for our African and Caribbean communities across the borough, in line with the recommendations from last year’s Marmot report, A Fair and Healthier Waltham Forest
