Come along to an event for LGBT+ History Month open to all residents in Waltham Forest. The panellists will be discussing their lives, aspirations, political and community work, as well as what we can all do to support older members of the black LGBTQIA+ community today.

Panelists include:

Deborah Henry-Adolph: Deborah and her wife set up the Callaloo Club. The Callaloo Club was set up to cater for the 60+ age group within Waltham Forest. The Club attracts people of diverse backgrounds and health and physical needs to combat loneliness and encourage friendships through playful events and activities.

Ted Brown: Ted is a long-time political campaigner and community activist. Ted has been at the forefront of political movements such as organising the UK’s first Gay Pride in 1972 – including a mass kiss-in at Trafalgar Square. Still active today, in mid-February 2024 Ted attended the unveiling of a Rainbow Plaque to celebrate The Black Lesbian and Gay Centre in Peckham.

Organised by Out in the Forest with support from the Race Equality Network.
