Join us on Wednesday 1 May for our Green Homes Webinar, where you can hear all about green construction (retrofit) and how it can benefit your business.

We're reaching out to builders, electricians, plumbers and other trades interested in learning new skills, winning more business and being a part of the solution to the climate emergency. We encourage you to share the event with other local tradespeople.

Retrofit is key to achieving the government and Council’s Net Zero targets. Retrofitting is the process of adding new technology or features to homes in order to make them more energy efficient.

It’s also a major growth area – it’s predicted that there will be 27,400 new green jobs to upgrade Waltham Forest’s housing stock in the next 25 years. There are currently 8 million lofts that need insulating in the UK, 5 million uninsulated cavity walls, and 20 million uninsulated floors that need upgrading if we are to reach these targets. This represents a significant area of work for local builders, installing insulation, double glazing and new heating technologies.

That means new business significant commercial opportunities for Waltham Forest construction businesses and tradespeople to diversify and grow their income. Retrofit demand is booming.

With 70% of homes in Waltham Forest built pre-1944, there are huge opportunities to use retrofit to make these homes greener, warmer and more energy efficient. Your business can support residents with new job prospects and contribute to warmer, healthier homes for local people.
