Healthwise

Healthwise aims to introduce Waltham Forest Residents to the benefits of physical activity and encourage these individuals to remain activate in order to help reduce risk factors for chronic disease, and help manage existing medical conditions. The scheme offers support and motivation to individuals to educate and empower them and help them to self-manage their medical condition and health.

Healthwise is a 12-week programme tailored to an individuals needs and goals. During the 12 weeks, participants will receive a minimum of 3x 1-2-1 appointments with a qualified instructor as well as being able to access a wide range of facilities within each centre.

Participants will be required to make a subsidised payment of £25pm or £4.75 pay as you go for the programme after completing the initial assessment with an instructor. For this price, you have access to BETTER facilities across the Waltham Forest, including gym, exercise classes and swimming.

Referral required and eligibility

The scheme is for local residents of Waltham Forest or individuals who are signed up to a GP surgery within Waltham Forest. 

Participants have to be over 18 years of age and willing and able to participant in physical activity. To access this scheme, Healthwise will need to receive a referral from a medical professional e.g. GP, nurse, physiotherapist.
