Fuel poverty service privacy notice

The Housing Strategy team, part of the Place directorate, has a contract in place with HEET to provide support for fuel poor households in Waltham Forest. 

HEET (Home Energy Efficiency Training Ltd) provides a free energy saving service to help people keep warm and reduce their energy bills.

Upon providing your consent, you are able to access these services.

Where relevant to do so and appropriate we may ask you for the following information in order to process your request:

• Name
• Email
• Home address
• Telephone number
• Eligibility data – including proof of income or receipt of benefits including Universal Credit and proof of age or long-term health condition

The processing and use of your personal data are required for contract monitoring and management purposes in order to verify that you have received a home visit and support package from our contractor HEET. It may be used to verify that you were eligible for support from our contractor according to our contract terms and conditions.

The processing of your data is based on your consent. You will be asked by our contractor HEET to sign a data protection form where you consent to the sharing of your data with us.

Your information will be shared between the contractor HEET and the Council.

The Council will retain the contract data for 7 years.
