Business rates are usually paid in 10 monthly instalments from April to January. Please contact us if you’d prefer to pay over 12 months, from April to March.
Payments must reach us by the first of each month unless you pay by Direct Debit.
If you have problems paying your business rates talk to us now. We can help you set up a suitable payment method so you can avoid getting into arrears.
You can see the various ways you can pay your business rates below.
Pay by Direct Debit
Direct Debit is a way of paying your bills automatically if you have a bank or building society account. Paying by Direct Debit means you:
- don't have to remember to pay each month
- get a choice of payment dates 1st, 6th, 10th, 15th, 21st or 28th
- are covered by the Direct Debit guarantee of a refund if something goes wrong
- can cancel at any time
- don't need to queue at a bank or post office to pay
- don't need to write cheques or carry cash
It's easy to set up a direct debit by completing our online form. Once you’ve created your business rates Connect account and successfully logged in:
- click ‘Show Details’
- choose the ‘Direct Debit’ option
- follow the steps
If you are unable to complete a Direct Debit mandate online (e.g. your bank account requires multiple signatories for DD) then you can complete the paper mandate which you would need to return by post to: Revenues Service, Business Rates, London Borough of Waltham Forest, PO Box 856, London E17 9PN
