Should the holder of a valid personal licence move address or change their name, they must notify us of the change.
As soon as they can, they must return both parts of their personal licence. This must include the prescribed fee and details of the change.
We require a valid reason should any parts of the licence not be returned. If the licence has been lost or stolen, this must be reported to the police and proof shown to us.

Personal Licences Expire After 1st April 2015
On 1 April 2015, the Government removed the requirement for Personal Licence-holders to renew their licence every ten years through the Deregulation Bill.
Personal Licences that expire after this date will not require any action to be taken as the licence automatically continues.
Personal licence-holders who wish to remove the expiry date from their licence can write to us and request this. You must send parts 1 and 2 of the original licence. There is a charge of £10.50 to cover administrative costs for issuing a new licence or updating the photo on the licence.
