Jubilee Gardens

Following a call to action from Local Ward Councillors, in early 2021 the council delivered some improvements to Jubilee Gardens. Improvements included resurfacing the pathway and lifting the canopy of the trees.

We received a positive response to progress works in the area. The local community, assisted by Transition Leytonstone developed a planting design, to ‘rewild’ Jubilee Gardens. They did this through implementation of new native hedges, fruiting bushes and spring flowers, planted to attract pollinators and local wildlife.  

The design was consulted on in November 2021, and in late April 2022, Meristem Design were commissioned to deliver the community’s vision.  

Feedback from the initial consultation raised lots of ideas for future works to the space. The local community will be working to implement some of these in the future, as well as taking on some of the maintenance of the site.
