Reporting damage to property by the Council’s Contractor
In the event that your property is damaged by the Council’s Waste, Street Cleansing and Grounds Contractors, there are three ways to report damage:
- reporting online
- reporting online (for those without internet access)
- reporting by post (for those without internet access)
Reporting online
Send an email to walthamclaims.ur@fccenvironment.co.uk including the following:
- your name
- your full contact details (including address and telephone number)
- the location where the incident occurred
- date and time of the incident
- description of the incident (including details of what has been damaged)
- registration and description of any vehicles involved
- description of any individuals involved
- any photos or videos of the incident (as part of the initial report)
Please expect a response from the Council’s Contractor within 10 working days of the email being sent.
Reporting online (for those without internet access)
If you (the “Reporter”) do not have online access, you can visit a local library and use one of the computers. You may have a friend, neighbour or family member who is willing to support you and report on your behalf (the “Representative”). Please ask them to use the following process:
Send an email to walthamclaims.ur@fccenvironment.co.uk including the following:
- the name and contact details of the Representative (including address and telephone number)
- the name and contact details of the Reporter (including address and telephone number)
- the relationship between the Representative and the Reporter
- location where the incident occurred
- date and time of the incident
- description of the incident (including details of what has been damaged)
- registration and description of any vehicles involved
- description of any individuals involved
- any photos or videos of the incident (as part of the initial report)
Please expect a response within 10 working days of the email being sent.
Reporting by post (for those without internet access)
If you do not have online access, please use the following process:
Write a letter to The Recycling Team, Waltham Forest Town Hall, Forest Road, Walthamstow, E17 4JF
- your name
- your address
- your full contact details including address and telephone number
- the location where the incident occurred
- date and time of the incident
- description of the incident (including details of what has been damaged)
- registration and description of any vehicles involved
- description of any individuals involved
- any photos or videos of the incident (as part of the initial report)
Escalation
For e-mail reports
If you do not receive a response to your email within 10 working days, please escalate by forwarding the initial email to the recyclingteam@walthamforest.gov.uk
For postal reports
If you do not receive a response to your letter within 10 working days, please escalate by writing to The Recycling Team
