Adult Learning Service

Waltham Forest Adult Learning Service is our direct provider of adult education and work-based training. They are committed to engaging local people in life-long learning by working with partners to promote participation, high-quality learning and training.

They provide a range of accredited and non-accredited learning opportunities for adults and young people across the borough.

Hundreds of exciting daytime, evening and weekend courses can help you:

  • learn new skills
  • develop your current skills to find work
  • start your own business
  • get a formal qualification
  • update your skills for professional development

What courses do they offer?

Choose from hundreds of courses, workshops and training: accounting, art, digital skills, English and Maths, hair and beauty, sewing, yoga and more! Whatever you want to learn, from using a computer to gardening or making your own clothes, you'll find a course to help!

How much does it cost?

Many of the courses are free, or you could get up to 70% off depending on your circumstances.

Are you 16–24 years old? You could start a new career with a paid Kickstart work placement.

They also recruit and support apprentices for a wide range of roles.

The English and Maths classes are free for most residents and go up to GCSE level. If English is not your first language, practice speaking English at their free friendly English conversation clubs.
