Remembrance Sunday 10 November 2024

Remembrance Sunday is a national opportunity to remember the service and sacrifice of all those that have defended our freedoms and protected our way of life.

Various events are happening throughout the borough to commemorate Remembrance Sunday.

Waltham Forest Civic Service 

The Civic Remembrance Day parade and service at will be held at

• The War Memorial, Town Hall campus on Sunday 10 November 2024. 

A parade of local organisations and members of the Walthamstow branch of the Royal British Legion will march from the William Morris Gallery, Lloyd Park, to the Town Hall at approximately 10.30 am.

If you wish to join the parade, please assemble at the William Morris Gallery from 10.00 am. The service will begin at 10.55 am at the Walthamstow War Memorial. 

Other Services of Remembrance

Remembrance services will be held across the borough, with parades making their way to the war memorials for a short service, wreath laying, and a 2 minute silence at 11:00 a.m.

• Chingford: at Chingford War Memorial at the junction of King’s Head Hill, the service starts at 10.45 am
• Leyton: at Coronation Gardens War Memorial, the service starts 10.55 am
• Leytonstone: at Harrow Green Memorial on the High Road, the service starts at 10.35 am
