Apply for secondary school

You will receive the results of your application on 3 March 2025.  This is called National Offer Day. This is the date applicants who applied by the closing date (31 October 2024)  will receive the results of their application. 

If you apply online by the closing date of 31 October 2024 you will be sent an email during the evening of 3 March 2025 with the results of your application. 

If you make a paper application, your offer letter will be posted on 3 March 2025 by first-class post. Any applications made after the closing date will not be responded to until after 3 March 2025. 

Please remember to accept the school place offered through your online account. If you make a paper application your letter will state how you can accept the school place offered.

If we are unable to offer any of the schools listed on your application, we will allocate a place at the school nearest to your home which has an available place. On 3 March 2025 we will provide a document on this page showing how school places were offered. This will show the cut-off distances for those schools which are full and also those schools which still have places available. If you have received an alternative offer and decide another school that is showing available places would better meet your child’s needs, please email school admissions at: admissions@walthamforest.gov.uk as soon as possible after receiving your offer, to request a change for your child’s alternative school offer. However, please note that we cannot guarantee a place at a particular school.

Your child’s name is automatically placed on the waiting list for any higher-ranked Waltham Forest schools that we are unable to offer.
