If your application is successful, the Home Office will inform us and we will receive your certificate of naturalisation.

We will then write to you confirming a date and time for your citizenship ceremony. It is a legal obligation (for anyone over the age of 18) to take part in the ceremony. If the date is inconvenient for you, we can arrange a private ceremony.

GOV.UK guidance on citizenship ceremonies

A private citizenship ceremony costs £100 per person. A Saturday private citizenship ceremony costs £150 per person. There is no charge for children under 18 years of age.

Book a citizenship ceremony

If you live in a different borough, you can have your ceremony in Waltham Forest with approval from the Home Office.

A naturalisation certificate proves you’re a British citizen with the right to have a British passport and vote. You will be presented with your certificate at the citizenship ceremony.
