In March 2022, the University of Portsmouth and Waltham Forest Council announced that the University would be launching a new London campus in Waltham Forest.

Work has been progressing behind the scenes and now the University's Admissions and Recruitment Centre will open in Walthamstow Library on Wednesday 26 April 2023. You can meet University staff face to face on Wednesday afternoons between 2pm to 6pm to discuss courses and entry requirements, and get general information on the project. More information is available online on the University of Portsmouth London website.

Working with the support of campus delivery partner, Northchild Group, the campus plans to open for its first students in 2024, occupying two floors in Juniper House near Walthamstow Central Station. The number of students will grow over the next few years as a main campus building is constructed nearby, on the site of the current Central House.

A world-class education in Waltham Forest

The University of Portsmouth is one of the top modern universities in the country. Its London campus will offer undergraduate and postgraduate courses. There will also be an extensive programme of work-based learning opportunities in the form of apprenticeships and continuous learning programmes, all designed with the needs and skills of local people and businesses in mind.

The campus will bring an estimated £372 million in wider economic benefits over the next 20 years and the creation of over 500 jobs in the borough.
