Wheelchair Services

AJM Healthcare is the NHS wheelchair service provider for children and adult registered with a GP in Waltham Forest.

The service will provide you with all NHS wheelchair services, including

  • clinical assessments and what sort of wheelchair is the right one for you or your child e.g. manual or electric
  • specialist seating
  • delivery
  • repairs and maintenance
  • collection when a wheelchair is no longer required

You can discuss the type of wheelchair that is right for you. If your child is mobile but needs support when travelling longer distances, you can discuss this with us during the assessment. 

How to get a referral to the service

You or your child will be referred to the Wheelchair services by a healthcare professional. Queries about referral can be sent to: ajmhealthcare.WalthamForest@nhs.net.

Where assessments take place

Assessments may be at one of the Wheelchair services sites, in your home or school dependent on your needs

If something goes wrong with your wheelchair

It is important that you contact us as soon as you notice a concern with your wheelchair, there is always a duty manager on the main switchboard who will try and address your concern if you call telephone:  0808 196 1850.
