All Ability bikeworks

Bikeworks believes that cycling should be accessible to all, regardless of age, disability, or experience. The All Ability Cycling Clubs have a range of adapted cycles including tandem tricycles, side-by-side, and platform tricycles. Clubs are run in several Waltham Forest locations, and across London, including Victoria Park.

Football

Coping through football

For ages 12 to 17 years old.

Use football to get fitter, boost self-esteem and confidence and make new friends. Aims to help those who’ve experienced isolation and poor physical and mental health address these issues.

Sailing

Laburnum boating club

A weekly club with 10 regular members and 5 support staff. Different activities every week for young people with additional needs, including bowling, kayaking, cycling, adventure playground and cooking.  

After school 5 to 7pm

Mondays: 13 to 18 year olds.             

Thursdays: 9 to13 year olds.

Sailability - Central London

Queen Mary Sailability provides a memorable sailing experience. For children and adults with any form of physical, sensory, or learning disability. Every Thursday from April to the end of October. No previous sailing experience is required. There is also a Saturday Morning Club, for sailors of all abilities.

Swimming

Disability free swimming

Free swimming for locals under the age of 18 year old. Junior membership is required. This offer is extended to residents aged 60 and over, Armed Forces staff, and people with a disability. Off peak times are 9am to 5pm on weekdays and after 1pm on weekends (membership required). Swim safely rules apply.

Tennis

Lea Valley Wheelchair Tennis

A fully inclusive tennis programme which works with the Lawn Tennis Association to provide supported sessions for disabled players.

Wheelchair Tennis Coaching

Two-hour coaching and open play wheelchair tennis sessions led by LTA Qualified Disability coach. Minimum age 12 years.

Highgate Inclusive Tennis Club

Tennis for all. With tactile court lines and special Sound balls for blind and visually impaired players, and two sports wheelchairs. Coaches are trained in LTA disability awareness.

Race Running

A new sport for children, young people and adults that cannot run independently, and rely on support aids for mobility and balance. The Race Runner is a three-wheeled frame which supports the athlete’s body. Feet propel the frame, while hands steer.
