Put on a performance or host a community stall this September
To celebrate our voluntary and community sector, Waltham Forest Council are hosting a Community Day at Fellowship Square on Sunday 15 September, and you could be a part of it.
The Council are looking for voluntary and community groups to showcase the values and work of their organisation to thousands of Waltham Forest residents either by hosting a stall, workshop or stage show at the upcoming Community Day.
Applications are now open for funding. The deadline to apply is midday on Friday 2 August.
Funding will be awarded for workshops that are inclusive and free for visitors to take part in. We encourage performances and activities that are interactive and engaging. This could include:
- Traditional art forms such as crafts, textiles, or calligraphy
- Music, dance or percussion performances
- Interactive cultural exhibitions
- Educational activities
Your stall must align with the following values:
- Celebratory: an opportunity to celebrate diverse communities
- Inclusivity: must be inclusive to all audiences, including different cultures, religions, ages, gender, disability and sexuality. Your stall should not be solely for your own community.
- Understanding and learning: creating a shared understanding of the different beliefs, culture, or experiences of those within society
- Promoting integration: bringing together communities, helping to build community cohesion through celebrating and appreciating our unique differences.
If your application is successful, you will be funded up to £800 to cover your costs.
